Breast Augmentation :: Breast Implants :: Risk and Complication - Rupture or Deflation

Rupture or Deflation

Rupture or Deflation of breast implants happened when saline solution leaks either through an unsealed  unsealed or damaged valve or through a break in the implant shell. Some breast implants may rupture or deflate immediately ,or progressively over a period of days. In may also happened in the first few months after surgery and some after several years.

Unlike saline-filled breast implants leakage, silicone gel implants ruptures may occur without a visible change. The silicone gel-filled implants are more likely to maintain their shape after they rupture, which can make it more difficult to detect a break. Moreover, the health effects of silicone gel-filled implants leaking remain controversial. the beast way for evaluating silicone gel-filled implant rupture is with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Symptoms of Saline implants and Silicone Implants Rupture
Silicone                                                                                    Saline
